The area is located on Interstate 85, convenient to three major urban centers: Atlanta (northeast), Birmingham (northwest) and Montgomery (southwest). Our temperate southern climate means year-round outdoor opportunities. Our average winter daily temperature is in the 60s, in summer, the 80s. Outdoor opportunities include the Chattahoochee River, the 27,000-acre West Point Lake, the Point University Golf Course and the Valley Community Center. Biking, canoeing, fishing and kayaking in lush settings are available for weekend enjoyment.
Just a short drive away to the south is Auburn University, home to some of the best Southeastern Conference (SEC) sporting events. Many restaurants and retail shops are located throughout the area. Other nearby attractions include Lake Harding, Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain Wild Animal Park, multiple museums and attractions in LaGrange, GA, Roosevelt State Park in Warm Springs, Chewacla State Park, Lake Martin and Atlanta Braves, Hawks and Falcons professional sports.
