In 2004, the Springwood School Alumni Association established the Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame to acknowledge and honor the accomplishments of former Springwood athletes. Each year during halftime of the Homecoming game, new members are inducted.
Guidelines for nomination of former student athletes are as follows. A nominee must have attended Springwood for a minimum of two years and lettered in at least two sports to be considered. Candidates for the Hall of Fame must have displayed not only outstanding performance as a student athlete, but also team leadership and achievement in sports as evidenced by post-season honors. (position as team captain, record-setting performance, district or state recognition, and or winning an individual championship.) Nominees must have graduated at least 15 years ago to be reviewed.
Springwood alumni, as well as faculty, parents, or coaches are invited to submit nominations ear year. The Springwood Alumni Council, along with current Springwood Administration review all nominations.
In 2004, 18 individuals from the first 20 years of graduating classes were chosen to commemorate our early history. In 2005, 2006, and 2007 5 additional members were added each year to the Athletic Hall of Fame. Springwood congratulates these individuals on this honor.
